Prints with Purpose
“Prints with Purpose” is a program where Sumercé Artisans prints and sells digital artwork — like paintings, illustrations, or photos — created by artists in Boyacá, Colombia. Instead of selling just originals, artists can earn income from prints of their work that are distributed internationally, all without having to handle shipping, printing, or sales themselves.
How it Works
Artists earn 50% of every print sold. The remaining proceeds sustain ethical production—printing, shipping, packaging, and platform operations—while 10% directly funds environmental projects protecting Lake Tota. This unique opportunity is not for everyone. We still support artists and their original paintings, illustrations, and other artworks. But for some artists, Prints with Purpose is passive income for them and their families, and an opportunity to expand their market outside Colombia, without the worry or hassle of distribution. They can focus on what is important to them, and continue to create the art they are passionate about. Sumercé takes care of the rest.
Why it Matters
This initiative began as a deeply personal effort—to create an education fund for a Colombian family through the sale of art prints. What started small has grown into a broader platform rooted in trust, long-term partnerships, and shared purpose. Today, it supports artists across Boyacá by offering a sustainable way to earn income, reach new audiences, and create without compromise.
